Everyone is familiar with the name Ahsan Manzil. This historic zamindar house is located on the banks of the Buriganga River in the Kumartuli area of Islampur, Old Dhaka. It was formerly the residential palace of the Nawabs of Dhaka and the Sadar Kachari of the Zamindari. Currently, it is being used as a museum.
Each house in Ahsan Manzil is octagonal. The roof of the palace is made of wood. What is not in this palace! Dining room, library, jalsa room, durbar hall, billiard room, the palace has guest rooms, meeting room, dance room, library, and other living rooms on the second floor.
