A New Call Rate for all operators in Bangladesh has been announced by the authority today. Yesterday the Finance Minister has announced the budget of Bangladesh. Here the most important issue was the Mobile sim call rate. The new VAT rate is 33% extra with the main money. Main VAT was 15% and the previous Subsidiary Tax was 8% and the new extra subsidiary tax is 10% total VAT was 33% for all sim all services.
So if you recharge 100 takes the Government will charge 33 takes. So today we are going to discuss the new call rate in this post with details information.
New Call Rate
The instructions were given to the mobile phone operators on Thursday in a letter signed by BTRC Director Systems and Services Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Azizur Rahman Siddiqui. Mentioning that the customers will benefit from the implementation of the directive, the acting chairman of the commission Zahurul Haque told that this will free the customers from the confusion caused by many types of call rates.
If the supplementary duty increases in raising the budget for the fiscal year -21 today, it will be effective from the moment of announcement. If any package approval is received from BTRC before the implementation of the new rules conflicts, it will be canceled from June 11. The new call rate package will have to be launched from June 12.
Bangladesh Budget – 21 New Call Rate
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has presented the budget for the new financial year on Thursday (June 11) at 3 pm. Earlier, the national budget session was held in the parliament yesterday.
Meanwhile, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) thinks that the telecom sector has survived despite the negative impact of the novel corona virus on the economy. Rather, calls and internet usage have increased. Therefore, the government wants to increase revenue collection from this sector.
The country currently has a 10 percent duty on mobile call rates. It expected to be increase to 15 percent in the new fiscal budget. At the same time, the current 5 percent VAT on the Internet may be increased to 10 percent.
In the 2019-20 budget, the government doubled the mobile phone call rate, SIM card tax and related services from 5 percent to 10 percent. As a result, the cost of talking on mobile increased last year.
