Asana Samarpanam: Worship Lord Ganesha by offering him a few flowers after he accepts the seat.

Yagnopaveeth – Offer the sacred Janeyu. Put it diagonally over the left shoulder and under the right arm.

Gandha – Offer Chandan paste

Pushpa – Offer flowers (red hibiscus or any other flower).

Durva -Offer Durva grass

Sindoor – Offer kumkuma

Dhoop – Offer incense sticks and dhoop

Avahanam: Invoke Lord Ganesha and pray to him before beginning the puja.

Padya – Offer water to the Lord’s feet.

Arghya – Offer water to the Lord.

Achaman– Drink water from your palm after offering it to God.

Snana – Offer water to the Lord for bathing.

Vastra – Offer a fresh piece of cloth or Mouli to the Lord.

Uttariya – Offer another piece of cloth to cover the upper body.

Naivedhya – Offer Bhog to Lord Ganesha. It could be payasam or any other food preparation of your choice without onions or garlic. The Modak is a must.

Tambulam – Offer a platter that consists of fruits, a whole coconut, paan and suparihaldi and kumkum.

Dakshina – Offer currency notes or coins

Aarti – Sing the Ganesha Aarti.

Pradakshina or Parikrama/ Circumambulate – Stand up on your feet and turn around from your right.

Pushpanjali – Offer flowers and do pranam.

Ganesh Chaturthi food: Easy Recipe To Make ‘Modak’

In the fourth, Modak allowed to please Ganapati. Hindu mythology says that Modak is Ganesha’s favorite food. Shiva’s son loves to eat sweets. Especially Modak. Ingredients:

Rice powder: 1 cup

Coconut whip: 1 cup

Cardamom: A pinch

Salt: Half a teaspoon

Molasses: 1 cup

White oil: half a teaspoon

First, fry the slice coconut in a pan. Pour one cup of water into another pot and bring to a boil.

Pour molasses in boiling water and mix. When the mixture thickens, add fried coconut and mix well. This time mix cardamom powder and keep stirring. Turn off the flame after a while.

Mix rice powder with hot water in a bowl. Add oil and salt. Make the rice mixture into small balls like cups in the palm of your hand.

Stick the mouth of the cup with the coconut mixture in it. Now you have to boil the cups filled with coconut well. Modak was made. Many people take it without frying it.
